Cre8audio NiftyBUNDLE, NiftyCASE, Chipz, & Cellz

Cre8audio, a company that no one has heard of prior to this press release, proclaimed their existence by releasing the beginnings of an eurorack compatible modular synthesizer system. The system currently consists of a few pieces, that are available separately or together as a big chunky bundle.

NiftyCASE – powered modular case with MIDI to CV
MSRP $249.99 Estimated Street $199.99

In addition to being a powered 84hp eurorack compatible modular synthesizer case, NiftyCASE features USB MIDI and 5 pin Din MIDI to CV/Gate conversion. This makes it easy for users to integrate modular synthesis into computer and traditional MIDI environments.

NiftyCASE also features a significant 2.5A of total power for installed modules. 1500mA +12V, 500mA -12V, and 500mA +5v is supplied for module power consumption.

Chipz – dual VCO and LFO
MSRP $149.99 Estimated Street $99.99

Chipz voltage-controlled oscillators are derived from classic lo-fi sounding wave shapes, designed to be full of character.

Each VCO features 5 different waveshapes, sine, triangle, saw, square, and noise. Users can morph between waveshapes with the turn of a knob. VCO #1 – Chip1 has an integrated filter, VCO #2 – Chip2 has integrated width control, aka duty cycle of the waveform can be modulated to shape the sound.

Chipz dual LFO also features 5 different waveshapes, sine, triangle, saw, square, and random. Users can change between each of these waveshapes with the turn of a knob.

Cellz – programmable CV touch pad
MSRP $149.99 Estimated Street $99.99

Cellz is in many ways 3 modules in one, a controller, sequencer, and an arpeggiator. Each of the 16 “Cellz” can be individually tuned to output 2 different CV values. The user then can play each Cell by touching it. Cellz automatically cycle and can be arpeggiated while touching multiple Cellz simultaneously. Alternatively, users can build their own sequences that run automatically by feeding/inputting Cellz clock, gate, or even an LFO.

Box ‘O’ Cables – duh, it’s a box that has cables in it
MSRP $19.99 Estimated Street $15

There’s not really a lot of exciting things to say about a box that has cables in it. It’s a box with 3 pairs (2x 45cm, 2x 35cm, 2x 20cm) cables of different lengths with 3.5mm mono/ts ends, all designed to be used with eurorack compatible modules.

NiftyBUNDLE – big box full of synthy fun (aka metal, wood, wires, knobs, and circuit boards, all for your eye and ear holes)
MSRP $569.96 Estimated Street $269.99

NiftyBUNDLE is designed to dropkick new users into the modular world or give existing modular users a great way to expand their setups at a super value.  It includes NiftyCASE, Chipz, Cellz, the cables from Box ‘O’ Cables, and 2 Cre8audio “8” blank panels for covering unused rackspace.

All of the above are imminently available from Cre8audio.com and Cre8audio dealers worldwide. To see more pictures, check out videos, find a list of dealers, and to just learn more, please visit Cre8audio.com

Product features are subject to change.

Eventide Audio unleashes MangledVerb reverb and distortion for iPhone and iPad

Following hot on the mobile music-making heels of Rotary Mod for iOS released earlier this month, Eventide is proud to release MangledVerb for iOS — its unique effect combining a rich reverb and devastating distortion that is capable of creating everything from granular ambience and moody auras to sound-sculpting mangled chaos — as an AUv3 plug-in and Standalone app as of October 31…

Thanks to the timely introduction of MangledVerb for iOS, iPhone- and iPad-based mobile music-makers are able to transform instruments and vocals with this classic Eventide effect wherever and whenever their creative muse might take them. After all, guitarists have used it for years, and now anyone, anywhere can have it — in the palm of their hand, even — for freedom of mobile music creation.
Creatively, MangledVerbTM starts with a variable pre-delay which feeds a stereo reverb into a complex distortion effect. Sonically it can range from the light friction of a bow scraping a cello string to the mayhem of a caged beast being poked with a red-hot flounder!

Like all the H9 Signature Series plug-ins preceding it, MangledVerb — and MangledVerb for iOS, especially — excels in live situations. The ‘Ribbon’ is an innovative control which lets users program two settings for any combination of the controls and seamlessly transition between them. The programmable HOTSWITCH allows anyone to instantly jump to an alternate setting at the push of a button. This combination of controls are as close as possible to the experience of tweaking real hardware.

Features:

  • Create out-of-this-world soundscapes by turning up SIZE and SOFTCLIP.
  • Smoothly morph from soft-clipping to hard-ripping overdrive.
  • Use the WOBBLE control to create spookiness.
  • Use the ‘Ribbon’ control to easily manipulate multiple parameters in a live situation.
  • Program the HOTSWITCH to instantly change multiple parameters at once.
  • Flexible I/O: Mono-In/Mono-Out, Mono-In/Stereo-Out, or Stereo-In/Stereo-Out.
  • Optimized for live use with MIDI control of the ‘Ribbon’ and TAP tempo for quick meta-control on the fly.
  • MIX lock control to scroll through the Factory Presets while keeping the wet-dry MIX constant.
  • Compatible as an Audio Units AUv3 plug-in, Inter-App Audio, and Standalone app for iPhone and iPad.

MangledVerb for iOS is now available for download as an Audio Units AUv3 plug-in, Inter-App Audio, and Standalone app for iPhone and iPad from the App Store for $14.99 USD here: https://etide.io/MangledVerbiOS

Celestion introduces the Seventy 80 impulse responses

Celestion, the premier manufacturer of guitar and bass loudspeakers celebrated for their classic guitar tones, is pleased to announce the introduction of the Seventy 80 Collection of Impulse Responses, the digital recreation of their very popular Seventy 80 guitar loudspeaker.  The new Seventy 80 Collection, along with the impressive collection of authentic Celestion guitar speaker tones, is available for audition and download at CelestionPlus.

The Celestion Seventy 80 speaker was conceived in the late 1990s as the G12P-80 and has gone on to become one of the most popular and widespread guitar speakers that the company has ever produced, having found its way into a huge number of amps and cabs around the world. Delivering a modern, gutsy British sound, the Seventy 80 packs a serious punch, taking the sound of a ceramic magnet guitar speaker to new levels.

With a detailed and crisply defined tone, the Seventy 80 has a tightly controlled, hefty low-end with a punchy, aggressive and dynamic upper mid-range. Its top-end response is clear and glassy for enhanced treble and a full-range feel without compromising its undeniable Celestion character. The Seventy 80’s low notes are tight, partnered with an upper register that has definition, and clarity, making it an excellent choice for searing lead lines or sparkling rhythm work: for all the guitar parts that are needed to really cut through the mix. Now Celestion has captured the popular Seventy 80 tone in a digitally downloadable Impulse Response.

The Celestion Seventy 80 IR collection is available in five classic cabinet configurations including:

  • 1×12 (open back)
  • 1×12 (closed back)
  • 2×12 (open back)
  • 2×12 (closed back)
  • 4×12 (closed back)

The new Seventy 80 impulse responses, as with all genuine Celestion IRs, have been digitally captured by expert sound engineers in a world-class recording studio, meticulous recording techniques and state –of-the-art equipment. Celestion have used the same range of professional, studio mics (Shure SM57, Royer R-121 and Sennheiser MD421) in the same six fully-adjustable positions as the current range of cabinet impulse response to offer the same options – Balanced, Bright, Thin, Fat, Dark and Dark 2, as well as an additional rear mic for the open back cabinets.  The Seventy 80 impulse responses have additionally been recorded using a Neumann TLM 107 room mic (Left, Right and Stereo) for the widest range of tonal options possible.

The Celestion Seventy 80 IRs can be purchased individually or as a collection for a nearly 50% discount. As with all of Celestion’s best-selling ranges of speaker Impulse Responses, the new Seventy 80 IRs are downloaded in .WAV format to ensure compatibility with the majority of amp modelling software and plugins.

The Seventy 80 Impulse Responses join Celestion’s comprehensive range of acclaimed guitar speaker Impulse Responses including:  A-Type,  Celestion Blue,  Celestion CreamCelestion GoldCelestion Ruby, Classic Lead 80G10 GreenbackHeritage G12H 55HzHeritage G12M, G12 EVHG12K-100G12-35XC, G12T-75 G12-50GL Lynchback,   G12-H150 Redback, G12M Greenback, G12M-65 Creamback, G12M-75 CreambackG12H Anniversary, G12-65Neo CreambackV-Type,  Vintage 30 and other models as well as Bass IRs including the BN10-200X,  BN15-300XPULSE10PULSE12 and PULSE15.

About Celestion Impulse Responses

Celestion IRs, which capture the essential behavior of the cabinet in the specific space in which it was recorded, including the frequency and phase response of single drivers as well as the interaction of multiple speakers, offer the user significant benefits. In both recording and live production, Celestion IRs enable the desired tone to be precisely and consistently reproduced regardless of the music recording or live sound environment. And IR users can escape the limitations of a single mic and cabinet setup and explore a universe of possibilities to create the perfect tone. Once you find a tone that you love, it can be precisely recreated, in the studio or on the road, time after time. And the IRs allow Celestion customers to audition specific models before purchasing one or more physical speakers.

Celestion IR digital downloads are available in uncompressed, industry standard .WAV format at 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz sample rates at 24 bit depth, in lengths of 200 and 500 milliseconds Once the files are downloaded and unzipped, users simply load the IRs into a convolution plug-in in their DAW or into other processing hardware. These formats will work in all known hardware capable of loading IRs, and for the most popular hardware Celestion have already grouped together the correct formats. Guitar processor manufacturers supported include (but are not limited to) Atomic Amps, Fractal Audio Systems, Kemper, Line 6, Logidy, Positive Grid, Two Notes, Headrush and Yamaha. The Celestion IR files may be downloaded in the sample rate and length appropriate for the hardware being used or as a complete package of all rates and lengths. Certain third party hardware requires the files to be converted into a proprietary format before use.
